IGA Tweed Valley

Brett and Leanne Bugg are the owners of the IGA Tweed Valley store located in Murwillumbah. Tweed Valley IGA is famous for its fresh produce, meat and seafood. "We cook in store, bake in store and make salads and other meals. Half our store is devoted to fresh. The seafood department features fresh live oysters shucked by our own fishmonger. Prawns are delivered direct from the trawlers while local fisherman b********* n fish to the store daily. Customers often come in and pick up a dozen oysters, some cheese, fresh bread and a couple of dips and we pack it up for them on ice for a picnic. Meat is sourced from the surrounding rich growing regions. Beef from Casino, Lambs from Tenterfield and Pork from Bangalow. The Tweed Valley is a fertile harvest region with bananas, avocados, mangoes, tomatoes, blueberries, corn, beans and many other fruit and vegetables grown on local farms and for sale in store. Northern NSW has some authentic food artisans and we get fantastic cheeses from Nimbin and Byron Bay organic honey and rice. It's a really interesting food destination and our store is evolving because of it. We also offer a self-serve coffee machine for a gold coin donation, which helps to fund a different local charity each week. The store was built on the old Norco butter factory site and pays homage to the dairy co-operative by only stocking its milk and supporting local dairy farmers in the area. It's also home to more than 2000 organic and gluten free specialty products. Over 120 local suppliers deliver direct to our store and you're sure to find a local artisan cheese, organic honey, refreshing tea or smoked ham that is unique to the region and the store.
