Wegner was regarded as the ultimate chair maker and the Danish designer created more than 400 chairs throughout his lifetime. Hans J. Wegner created the Wing Chair in 1960 and it has since become one of the designer's most celebrated works. It has won several international awards including, a classic innovation award for its timeless appeal at the IMM Cologne furniture fair in 2006. Wegner had an intimate understanding of materials and a deep passion for creating chairs which delivered a high level of comfort.
