Carpet ********* ned floo********* from humble beginnings in 1975, with a total capital outlay of $270 and a carpet rack that was found partly submerged in the Brisbane River, Smith, a young father at the time, opened his first one man store at Alderley, on the Northside of Brisbane. The shop was so small that the carpet had to be rolled out into the street to be cut for his customers.
