The story behind the Juhl Poet Sofa Finn Juhl designed the Poet Sofa in 1941 for his self-built, ultra-modern home in Charlottenlund to the north Copenhagen. It remains there to this day and the estate now forms part of the Ordrupgaard Museum. Also known as the Poeten, the Poet Sofa was exhibited in 1945 on Niels Vodder's stand at the Cabinetmaker's Guild Exhibition. At the time, Juhl's work received more acclaim abroad than in his home country of Denmark. Today, he is considered a leader of Danish design and his Poet sofa has received iconic status worldwide.
