The AJ table lamp by Arne Jacobsen is considered to be a classical masterpiece of the 1950's. This distinct light was designed in 1957 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Denmark. The asymmetrical shape with its cut out circle in the base of the lamp (originally intended to accommodate an ashtray) defines the style of this table lamp. The light also features an on/off switch on the base which was quite modern for the time.
