St Columba’s School has a rich and diversified history. The foundation stone for the school was placed by Archbishop James Duhig on 1st October, 1916 just two years after the opening of St.Columba's Catholic Church. The Archbishop was successful in engaging the Good Samaritan Sisters to take over the running of the new school. St Columba’s was founded by the Good Samaritan Sisters and started on 7th January 1917, with the first classes beginning on 22nd January. In the first week, the roll ********* 1917; the school’s enrolment was 250.
